One-Punch Man Season 3 Is Set to Continue (Come 2027)
Truly the most shocking announcement, the much-discussed disaster that was season 3 of One-Punch Man wasn't enough to halt further production. Season 3 will come back with a subsequent part in 2027—so far away they easily could have dubbed it season 4. Even more shocking, the studio J.C. Staff will still be leading the project. On a positive note this time, director Shinpei Nagai is set to direct from the outset, which might be a positive development. However, the promotional image for the new episodes is a mirror of the one used for season 3, just with protagonists Saitama and Garou looking opposite ways. This leads one to believe that, by now, they could be mocking the fans.
The Ruri Dragon Series Is Set to Be the First Shonen Jump Anime By Kyoto Animation
Kyoto Animation has built a standing for being an prestigious animation studio, distinguishing itself not just for the exceptional quality of its work but for the good working conditions of its employees—a sadly unusual standard in the industry. Surprisingly, until now, it had never worked on an anime stemming from a manga serialized in Shonen Jump, arguably the most iconic magazine in the field. Ruri Dragon will break that tradition, and what a excellent choice it is. The manga by Masaoki Shindo became a huge following when it debuted in 2022 after just a small number of issues, but then went into a lengthy break due to the mangaka's health issues. When it returned with a reduced workload, the series demonstrated it hadn't lost the fans' appreciation and positive sentiment, and now the community is overjoyed about the upcoming KyoAni adaptation.

Kingdom is the best-selling, decades-spanning Shueisha manga that is other than One Piece. If you've never heard of it before, it's because it only fairly recently obtained an English localization, but the anime has been running for a while, and season 6 was another excellent entry. As it happens that was just the first cour, because a "sequel" has been revealed as in production, and it will probably premiere in 2026.

Another studio renowned for the excellent quality of its productions, Science Saru has delivered hit shows of the quality of Space Dandy, Devilman Crybaby, and, more recently, Dandadan. This time, the studio will be taking on the adaptation of Tomato Soup's manga A Witch's Life in Mongol, inspired by the real historical figure of Fatima, an powerful woman and thinker in the Mongol Empire in the 13th century. Based on the trailer, the anime named Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia will have a highly unique and intriguing visual style, which is somewhat reminiscent of Ranking of Kings. Set to premiere in July 2026, this one will without a doubt be on my watchlist.
