Chiefs State They Are Aware of Domestic Violence Allegations Involving Wide Receiver the Athlete
The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement on Wednesday evening stating they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations circulated in social media posts by a former girlfriend of player the athlete and had been in contact with the league office.
The team did not mention Rice specifically in their statement and said they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name the athlete by name, posted a series of photos on social media that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. She stated the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has two children with Rice, whom the team drafted in the second round.

No official complaints were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the incident is said to have occurred.
Rice's Prior Legal Issues
The receiver missed the initial part of this NFL campaign due to an NFL suspension for his involvement in instigating a crash on a Dallas highway that resulted in several individuals injured. He was given 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.
On the field, Rice concluded the season with 53 catches for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Kansas City finished with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a decade.
