Congressional Democrats Disclose Most Recent Set of Jeffrey Epstein Photos as Justice Department Cut-off Date Looms

The House Oversight Committee has made public a batch of roughly 70 photos obtained from the property of deceased found guilty sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein.

This represents the latest in a series of publication from a larger collection of in excess of 95,000 images the committee has acquired from Epstein's holdings. It features pictures of passages from the book Lolita inscribed across a female's body, and redacted pictures of women's foreign passports.

This disclosure arrives mere hours before the December 19th due date for the Justice Department to disclose each records associated with its investigation into Epstein.

"These latest photos pose more inquiries about exactly what the Justice Department has in its custody," remarked the senior Democrat of the panel, Robert Garcia.

What is in the Photographs Released

Several of the images made public on this week show Epstein conversing with professor and activist Noam Chomsky on a private plane; Bill Gates standing beside a individual whose identity is censored; Steve Bannon positioned at a workstation across from Epstein, and former Alphabet president Sergey Brin at a evening meal.

These are the latest high-net-worth, influential figures to be pictured in Epstein estate photos disclosed by the oversight panel - formerly published pictures also include US President Donald Trump and past president Bill Clinton, as well as film director Woody Allen, ex- US treasury secretary Larry Summers, attorney Alan Dershowitz, Andrew Mountbatton-Windsor, and others.

Being pictured in the photos is not evidence of any wrongdoing, and a number of the photographed figures have stated they were in no way participating in Epstein's illegal activity.

In a press release issued alongside the photo release, Democrats on the US House Oversight Committee said the Epstein property holders did not offer context or timings for the pictures.

"Photos were selected to offer the American people with clarity into a typical cross-section of the photos acquired from the holdings, and to give insights into Epstein's associates and his extremely alarming actions," the announcement says.

The release also features multiple photos of quotes from the Vladimir Nabokov book Lolita written in dark ink across different parts of a female's body, like her torso, foot, hipbone, and rear. Lolita narrates the story of a adolescent who was groomed by a adult literature professor.

An example of a passage from the work inscribed across a female's upper body states, "Lolita's name: the point of the tongue making a journey of three steps down the palate to alight, at three, on the teeth".

Additionally, there are a series of photographs of women's passports and identification documents from countries around the world, like Lithuania, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine.

A large portion of the details on the IDs, like identities and birth dates, is obscured but the committee indicated in a statement that the passports belong to "females whom Jeffrey Epstein and his conspirators were interacting with".

A further image depicts Epstein sitting at a workstation in close proximity flanked by three women whose features have been redacted - a first has her palm on Epstein's upper body under his garment, and another is bending to view a adjacent laptop. Epstein can be seen to be helping the third attach a piece of jewelry.

A further image made public is a capture of text messages from an unnamed person who claims they have been provided "several females" and are asking for "$one thousand dollars per female".

Photograph Release Comes Prior to DOJ Deadline

The body has thousands of images in its custody from the Epstein holdings, which are "both explicit and everyday," its announcement on this week clarified.

The oversight panel first subpoenaed the holdings of Epstein, who passed away in a New York prison in 2019 while pending legal proceedings on accusations of human trafficking, in August.

The images and documents the Epstein estate's representatives provided to the body are distinct from what is commonly called "Epstein-related records". Those are documents within the DOJ's control connected to its own probe into Epstein.

Under the recently passed law, which President Trump enacted in November, the DOJ has until the date of 19 December to disclose its documents. The full nature of what's contained in the DOJ's documents is unknown, and it's probable that much of the material will be extensively obscured, similar to the committee's releases
