Homages Continue for the Reiners as Autopsy Reports Remain Under Wraps.

Well beyond 14 days after the tragic deaths of renowned film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, friends and colleagues persist in remembering the pair.

Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director

Writing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, stated he finally felt ready to share openly about his profound loss.

"Sufficient time has elapsed that I can now put my grief into words," wrote Elwes, adding that his first meeting with Reiner left him smitten. "Once we started passing more hours together I understood this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor shared behind-the-scenes footage from the film, commenting that he doesn't recollect "a single day without mirth".

"The film is about affection, allegiance and giving. Values that Rob cherished deeply. This is one of the many reasons he was the ideal person to guide it," Elwes expressed.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, saying: "Asserting that they were a great team would be an oversimplification. My heart still aches every time I recall you." He ended with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Friend and Collaborator

In a different essay, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"Right away, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese shared.

Scorsese highlighted Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the lead role.

"He could improvise with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked seamlessly with the cast, and he comprehended the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese added.

Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Withheld

Recently, a Los Angeles superior court judge ruled to block the release of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, at the request from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A judicial mandate placed a security hold on the files to prohibit the public release of "all case details, documents, files or images" associated with the probe.

The coroner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the consequence of homicide, with a record listing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Fallout and Commentary

Following the tragedy, public personalities shared divergent responses.

Former President Donald Trump commented on the matter, providing controversial remarks that were widely condemned by many individuals.

Podcaster Joe Rogan lent his criticism to the critics recently. Speaking on his show, Rogan described the statements as "disappointing" and implied they revealed a concerning deficiency of sympathy.

Rogan concluded by suggesting that an adviser could have acted when the impulse to speak on the death was made.
