NFL Round Five Updates: Eagles vs Broncos and More Games
Live Football Action
Welcome, NFL enthusiasts! Join us for week five of the NFL action, where I'll provide all the action from the first matchups. This is a nice mid-morning start on the Pacific coast at 10am (PST), stretching to an early evening 6pm (BST) in jolly old England. Recently, the Minnesota Vikings mounted a comeback to beat the Cleveland Browns 21-17 due to a 12-yard receiver touchdown grab with just 25 seconds remaining at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The Vikings improve to three wins and two losses, while Cleveland fall to 1-4. The Sunday lineup is in full swing.
Today features a impressive roster of six games to cover:
Baltimore Ravens vs Houston Texans
Panthers vs Dolphins
Colts v Las Vegas Raiders
Saints v Giants
Jets vs Cowboys
Eagles v Broncos
Key Game: Eagles Face Broncos
A highlight contest is going down in Philadelphia with the unbeaten title holders receiving a visit from the Broncos. Theoretically, you might expect an straightforward victory, but a brief look pops up headlines questioning whether the Philadelphia are the least impressive undefeated squad in history. It's unclear. What we do know, is they have enjoyed some luck on special teams with multiple blocked attempts, one of which earned a win against the Rams. The key battle will be how Denver defensive coordinator Vance Joseph dials up his defense to stop Philadelphia’s dual threat quarterback Hurts from charging down the field. If they can make them throw, then a statement win might result for the Broncos, currently with two wins and two losses, which would make prognosticators, myself included, who said the Broncos would finally depose the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West feeling more optimistic.
Additional Games to Follow
In other games, a host of one-win wonders are eager to move nearer to a winning record with a win, or right on the button in the case of the Cowboys after their madcap 40-40 tie with Green Bay has them at 1-2-1. Their visit to the Meadowlands to face the yet to win Jets should do the trick as they look to keep the offensive fireworks flowing between QB Dak Prescott and wide receiver Pickens. Ultimately, star pass catcher CeeDee Lamb’s injury might actually help the Cowboys as Pickens’ expanded duties since will have sped up his development, making the attack more powerful when he does return. In the here and now, the New York's backfield needs to be on their toes and then some to avoid a sorry slip to zero wins and five losses.
Ravens Face Texans in Surprising Matchup
Two of unexpected 1-3 merchants go head-to-head in Baltimore as the banged-up Baltimore Ravens are guided into battle with the Texans by reserve QB Rush. When these teams met last season, we saw Beyoncé’s amazing performance bookended by the Texans enduring a devastating one-sided loss at home on the holiday, then a 34-10 beating in the postseason a month later at Baltimore. But, without the injured two-time MVP Jackson on the field, who threw multiple scores, scored three scores, and accumulated massive yardage across the previous games, the Texans' unit will be optimistic.
