Trump Welcomes Loved Ones of Injured National Guard Personnel to the White House

Former President Donald Trump revealed on Sunday that he has invited the relatives of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to visit the White House.

He added that he contacted her parents and they were “devastated”.

Details on the Devastating Shooting

Specialist Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a attack on Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her comrade, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, is still in the hospital in critical condition.

Gatherings across the state have occurred in their memory.

Presidential Invitation

The commander-in-chief stated he’s proposed a meeting at the presidential residence for the parents of both members of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a hard experience, arrive at the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” Trump addressed reporters. “And likewise with him, no matter the outcome.”

Community Support

Attendees gathered over the past few days at a local school in the state to honor Beckstrom.

Both the soldiers had been serving with the military unit as part of Trump’s federal initiative to assist policing efforts in DC.

Paying Tribute to Sarah Beckstrom

“Sarah was the kind of student that educators wished for. She carried herself with inner fortitude, a contagious smile and a optimistic attitude that lifted those around her,” Hankins, the head of her previous school, informed the press. “She was caring, compassionate and always ready to help others.”

Service arrangements for Beckstrom are still being arranged.

Judicial Measures and Government Changes

Authorities have accused a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with a charge of homicide and two counts of violent assault while carrying a weapon.

The event caused the Trump administration to suspend asylum processing and halt issuing visas to owners of passports from Afghanistan.

Condition of Andrew Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of the city, enlisted in February 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman high school, as reported by the AP.

He is still undergoing care and is “fighting for his life”, the state’s leader Patrick Morrisey stated on a news program.

Attorney general the attorney general told Fox News Sunday that she also intended to speak to his relatives.

Memory of the Fallen Soldier

Beckstrom, from Summersville, graduated from her high school in June 2023 and enlisted soon after, working as a military police officer with honor, according to the military.

“She had a lot of kindness and she certainly had bravery,” the governor told the gathering at the memorial. “Though her time ended too soon, she has made an impact that’s going to endure.”
